Private stay – Whole upper premises

Book a private stay with us – the whole premises will be for your party only.

We are spectacularly located in a prominent elevated position in a South facing valley which brings long hours of sunshine and a favourable microclimate.

The house is approached by a lane which winds its way from the main road, crossing over a river by an ancient bridge and then winding upwards through olive groves to reach the property. There are extensive private wooded grounds which drop away from the house giving a real sense of privacy and peace.

The whole atmosphere is one of utter tranquillity – we are far from any major road and the only sounds are the splash of the water as it tumbles from rock to rock, the birds and the summer calling of the crickets. At night, we are free of any light pollution and guests always enjoy the brilliance of the stars and the closeness of the moon.

There is nothing to spoil the view and to witness a ‘La Massa’ morning is truly magnificent – the light has a wonderful brilliance and luminescent quality which never fails to enthral.

We have developed the grounds of la Massa to include ample private terracing and furnished patio areas.  Guests use these for dining alfresco and sunbathing.

There are flowers everywhere – from wild orchids and lilies to our bright red Tuscan geraniums.

The pool is long enough to give a decent ’lap’ and it is solar heated to extend the swimming season.  There is also a hot tub and this is a great way for relaxing under the stars after a long day of doing ‘Tuscany’.  We have surfaced the outside areas using natural stone and Tuscan tiles

We have two guest suites available, Thyme and Sage and they are often taken together by one party on a self -catering basis giving the ability to accommodate up to 4 people in two bedrooms and two bathrooms (or even 5 or 6 when using the comfortable sofa bed in the sitting room).  Alternatively, Sage can be reserved with just one bedroom and bathroom.  In addition to the bedrooms, there is a very large living area with a fully equipped Italian designer kitchen, comfortable sofas and armchairs, a solid wood dining table and occasional furniture to include a large flat-panel LCD television, satellite tuner, DVD player and Bose iPod docking station.

The bedrooms have ample wardrobe space, chairs, chests of drawers and new comfortable beds which are dressed in high-quality linen and feather duvets.

The bathrooms are spacious and have large shower cubicles, washbasins, bidet showers etc.  The wall finishing always fascinates as it is crushed marble.

You can have the exclusive use of swimming-pool and upper premises reserving for at least 5 people.

In addition, guests may enjoy (if that is the word) our beautiful and well-equipped gym with its mirrored wall and a fabulous view.  There is a changing room and sauna within this suite.

Guests (and we have a huge and appreciative guestbook) all find beneficial our supportive advice about what to do and where to go.  We have a big local knowledge and are happy to share this with sightseeing tips and telling of the best restaurants to visit.
